Frequently Asked Questions
Common Client Concerns
Majority of my clients see me for their unhealthy relationship to food, or negative body image. Many clients have experienced some form of trauma, such as a traumatic incident, tragedy, bullying, or constant feelings of invalidation.
I also see clients have a combination of concerns, such as overlapping role transitions into parenthood, or changing bodies due to pregnancy.
I also support individuals going through pregnancy, and pregnancy/post pregnancy related anxiety or depression, or help support individuals who have experienced a pregnancy related loss
I see clients ages 16+ for a variety of common issues such as anxiety, depression as well.
Cancellation policy
I require a full 24 hours notice for the cancellation of an appointment. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged the half of the rate of the session regardless of the reason, including for no-shows. It is also clients’ responsibility to be on time for sessions. Regardless of when the client arrives, sessions will need to end at the originally defined end-time.
Rates for Sessions
Psychotherapy is a regulated health profession in Ontario; however, it is not covered under OHIP. Many extended health benefits/employer benefits do cover psychotherapy (typically as part of your health and dental insurance package). I encourage you to speak with your insurance provider about counselling services provided by a “Registered Psychotherapist” or a Canadian Certified to determine your eligibility.
